I may go on the May 6 weekend as that is my sister Julie's birthday (Jane's is today). We shall see.

Dammit. WHY is Lucinda Williams the same day as Widespread? I looooove Lucinda Williams, and I like Widespread and all, but ugh. I do not want to navigate both the sweltering heat and the filthy hippies that descend on town when a hippie jam band plays. When Phish played, it was awful. They were camping on the neutral grounds, on people's lawns, asking my parents if they could use the shower, if they could borrow a spatula - "Nobody really owns a spatula, man..." Ugh.

I sound like Cartman.

After my first glance at the schedule, I'm thinking the second weekend. I can endure a hippie band or two, as long as they stay offa my land.

I don't see where Paul Simon is listed.

Dr. John, Irma Thomas, and ReBirth (and the spectacular Chris Owens show) are on the first weekend, but Lucinda, Galactic, Keb' Mo', Coco Robicheaux, Cowboy Mouth, North Mississippi All Stars, the Wild Magnolias, the Radiators, and the Neville Brothers are on the second weekend. And that's Julie's birthday weekend. So I'm saying that I'll be there the second weekend.
