We have purchased a lot of our poultry supplies from Smith Poultry & Gamebird Supply and have been very happy with their products and service. They have both table top and large incubators at reasonable rates.

Bought one from the local coop for 26.00. It is a styrofoam thingy that has hatched hundreds of eggs for me! Even turkey and geese! Those little baby ducks have to be the cutest!!!! You can build one out of a styrofoam ice chest with a light bulb for heat and a thermostat somehow. I have seen plans for one, but the other was really cheap, even for miserly me! Hope you have Great Luck Kelly ! Warning....incubators can be habit forming!

Check back issues of Countryside. Therein you will find plans for a simple incubator which I have used for years for years to hatch everything from quail to turkeys and geese.

I was lucky in that my sister-in-law recently gave me one of those styrofoam incubators. It had a price tag of $39 still on it. I fired it up for the first time last week. I am trying to hatch eggs from my Aracuanas. Anyway, I had a tough time understanding how to assemble the thing. If you ask me there must be a better design. I finally figured it out after turning the pictures every which way and trying every screw in every hole. But then I am not good with mechanical things or directions. Then I had a terrible time getting it set at the prescribed 100 degrees. It took me the whole evening. Finally the next morning I added my eggs. So far so good tho. Everytime I look at it it is holding the temp at the 100. I am sure the next time will be easier. Probably wouldn't be a problem for most people. Wish me luck. 14 more days ! I always used the hens to hatch before but it's nice not to have to wait for a setter !

oh, forgot to mention. the size is good. Fits on a TV tray and will hold 60 chicken eggs, 40 turkey or duck eggs. This brand is called Little Giant. I have seen incubators being sold on Ebay, several different kinds with varied prices.
