I've missed out on the last few episodes of JYW (first my VCR kept messing up on me, then I forgot they moved to Mondays) but I finally saw last night's (2/5/01) show with the tractor pullers (which was a GREAT show IMHO). Is this show from the first UK series of Scrapheap? Has it aired in the US before? I noticed the teams were chosen rather than put together by the contestants, and also Kathy was not there. Neither TLC's or Channel 4's sites mention anything about this episodes, so I assume it was one of the very original ones that didn't air in the US. Can anyone clear this up?

This is the first series of Scrapheap.

It has not aired in the US before.

The estimable Ms. Rogers did not become a p-r-e-s-e-n-t-e-r until the second series. She was the p-r-o-d-c-e-r for the first series (and executive producer for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th series).

I believe that after the current series finishes there will be only one show (the "Car Crusher" Final Final after the fourth series between the Long Brothers Long and the Megalomaniacs) that has not aired in North America. Since the 4th series is now airing in the UKoGBaNI, all us cousins across the pond will be caught up, except that the Brits will have seen the "Car Crusher" Final and the Colonials will not. Have.

Ah I see now. And after reading the NERD's FAQ, I see the tractor pull episode was the only 1st UK season show that aired in the US. My friend was convinced he had seen last night's episode before and I thought he was wrong since the 1st UK season had not yet aired here. But apparently JUST the pulling episode had.
