I knew there was a reason I love the south so much (been here all my life). Today it was 72, blue skies and plenty of sun. How could I work, even though I work for myself at home. I got in the garden tilling, oh the smell of warm fresh dirt. Cleaned up some debris from winter and we had a bad one startin' out. We had snow three times, the first time was 1 inch, then 3 and finally 1 inch. But, oh is it beauuuuuuutiful now. Sorry, I know that some are still in the midst of the cold but I just couldn't help it. Have a great day! Yeah Patty, lots of snow. I have to remind myself that come the middle of summer is when I am so grateful I don't live in the south. It's a tradeoff. Spring is coming!!!

Great Day up here in the northeast too. At least in southeastern Mass. Clear blue skies with lots of sun! Snow on the ground yet, but it was 41 outside and 70+ in the greenhouse in late afternoon. Got my requirement of natural vitamin D (sunshine) and lots of fresh air! Spring is around the corner ;-)

It will hit 66 today and 70 tomorrow-but back to 40's on SUnday. I have laundry in already and am hanging out again today. Better look at those seed catalogs to take up some of this Spring fever!

65 yesterday here in Ky. I took down allot of fence and could finially pull up all those T-posts that were frozen. And I used the HOSE and filled up the tanks again. I saw BEES hovering around my sliding glass door! And a fly. It smelled so good yesterday, you could feel the ground warming up. Last spring it came a month early, maybe we'll get the same this year.

Years ago we lived north of Kansas City MO and had neighbors who'd moved to the area from south Louisiana. Their first March when the weather started to warm up a little, Lisa mentioned that her husband had started talking about getting out their tomatoes and peppers before it was too hot. I told her she hadn't lived in Missouri long enough and to be patient. Within a few days, she called me to ask when they should put out their tender plants, that her husband was really getting antsy to get things in before it was too hot. I explained that our last average frost wasn't until mid May, that she hadn't lived in Missouri long enough and to be patient. The next time she called, she said that she'd lived in MO TEN MONTHS and her husband was really getting adamant about planting those tomatoes! I told her I'd lived in Missouri ten years and to be patient. By that time it was early April. We had a heavy but shortlived snowfall and our last frost turned out to be the Thursday after Memorial Day! I think Lisa's husband put in tomatoes twice before the third bunch made it. While visiting Lisa one day, she showed me their garden and as we walked away from it, she smiled and said, "We haven't lived in Missouri long enough."

I guess with winter too, it ain't over til it's over.

I'm actually thinking of getting some seed at Walmart this weekend, and planting some lettuce this weekend. Hey, they get frozen out-- we've had blizzards in March....but nuthin' ventured, nuthin' gained, and I just might get my early salad greens in REALLY early!!!!!
