The day after Valentine's Day. I'm predicting a big sale on candy hearts and day-old flowers.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Answers

A philosophical question to start the day...

If you're one of those people who dress in black to protest Valentine's Day, what do you wear today? Hawaiian shirts? The brightest clothing you can find?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I don't know. But I do know Bring It On can make anyone's Vday better.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I know that's right, H. We watched it too. It faburous! I loved it.

I get your YM message last night! I so grad you rike Chaolentine!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Isnt' it great!

Yes. Rove Chaolentine.

Y'all, my friend Sara registered for Squishy last night! I don't think she's posted yet, but how cool is that?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Yay! Did she register as Zep?

I hope y'all had good nights. I agree that some sort of starlight intervention is necessary.

Here's another philosophical question: why do the bitter v-day people emphasize that they wore black "down to their underwear" when clearly, and by their own admission, no one will be seeing their skivvies?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

"Dear Jess,

I'm glad you're back. You make me happy. Happy valentine's day.

Wishing I could spend it with you, Matt"

Excuse me while I puke.

I think she registered as "strider" bc that's what she is on her site.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Do any of y'all know who fanmail.diaryland is??

It's some "famour" journaller. I used to think it was Pam, but I'm not sure. Or beth. I dunno.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

What's a famour journaller?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I think maybe she meant "famous." And do you mean an IP address or a username or what?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

No, there's this journal called fanmail.diaryland.com And one time pam linked to it and said if you can't figure out who this is, you're dumb.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I have no idea. Looks like pamie to me, though. Whoever it is used Allison's "if you know what I mean, and I think you do."

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Huh. I don't know. Did Pamie ever wait tables? I've been hearing about that Paris Hilton person for a while now, and it just dawned onme that they weren't talking about a hotel.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

See, I don't know. But for some reason, I don't think it's Pam. I think it's one of her friends. I don't know. I'm obsessive. Duh.

I really want to go to SXSW

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Maybe it's Michelle. Hmmm. Does she have a journal?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'd like to go to SXSW too, but if I had to choose one major music festival, I'd pick Jazz Fest.

Mayn, when we lived in Texas, we were too young to take full advantage of it, you know?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

If that's pamie, I don't know about it. I remember when she linked to that, and I also remember not having any clue who it was. Maybe it is her... there are so many "famour" journallers, though, that I don't even read. Like The Mighty Kymm? Never read her. And all these people I run across on links pages that I've never heard of.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

By the way, I'm here.

I'm going to sxsw! I wish y'all would come!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Well baby you're the most famour journallar I know.

A couple people from work are going, and I could probably go, but I don't know. I get nervous about shit like that.

But the interactive starts like the day we get back from Spain and I dont' think I could be out of the office that much.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

What does "famour" mean? Is it a play on "famous" and "amour"?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Shut up! You are? Well, I have to go now. Shit. Shit! When are you gonna be there? But if I go to SXSW, no LA

Um, famour was a typo.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I think we're going too. Meredith has some deal that weekend she wants us to be there for.

H, come! We rock hizouse!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Okay, I'm retarded.

Johaaaaaaaaaaana, you have to come to Jazz Fest!

We watched the Virgin Suicides last night. Did y'all see that? I read the book a few months ago, and with both of them I was sort of, "eh."

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

The governor of Rhode Island is named Lincoln Almond. That sounds like a character in a children's book.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I liked the book way better. I didn't like any of the people they picked to play the girls. It messed everything up for me.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I thought both the movie and the book were eeeeh

AB - when will you be there?

I'll still go to jazz fest

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

To me, the girls in the movie (besided Kirsten Dunst, because she was the plot focus) were indistinguishable. I liked that, because when you have a group of sisters that big (not that I'm comparing my sisters and I to the Lisbon sisters), they tend to be known as a collective unit - "the girls." The neighborhood boys never really identified them as individuals (to an extent they did, but not as much as they did Lux), so to me, it made sense that they were just these vague blonde girls with not a lot of character development (in the movie - I thought they were more well-developed in the book).

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I don't remember the date--March 9th, maybe? I can't even remember what it is Mere wants us there for. Maybe a show. I hope so.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

On the other hand, I persuaded my sister Kathleen to write an entire English paper based on the similarities between the girls in my family and the Bennett sisters in Pride and Prejudice. Only, we didn't have a Mary. Thankfully.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Oh, wow, SXSW is right after Spain. I'm probably heading to Texas in April. So many things this spring. Spain, Easter in DC, Susan's graduation, Jazz Fest, Texas... shite.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Okay, y'all, I'm fragmented today. Three days of Tylenol flu will do that to you, I guess. But this makes me wish I was still in PR.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I will somehow be at all parts of sxsw. I don't know how I'm going to work it out, but:

I know I'll be down there the first weekend, hanging with P and stee (!) and the MOC for the start of the interactive.

At some point I have to be there for the film to see my friend Dan's film (which was also at Sundance) and schmooze for him as his PR person.

Then I'm going to the last weekend of the music part with Eric and Chris.

That'll put a few miles on my car, yo. Only young once, y'all.

Oh, and I'll be at JazzFest, I'm pretty sure.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

T - why are you going to TX? Actually, SXSW is over a week. It runs from the 9th to the 18th.

If I go, I was thinking the 12th to the 15th. I don't know. I want to go to LA too. Who knows

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Well, that would mean I wouldn't be there whe you are. Hmm. The guy from here is going for the last weekend for music. I'd liek to go to the first weekend, but obviously, I'll be in Spain.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Shit, y'all, I'm all conflicted.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'm going to Austin to visit Anna, and I imagine that a side trip to Austin will fit in that weekend, too. Nothing's finalized yet.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

A side trip to Dallas, I mean.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I thought Anna lived in Dallas?

Well, I just don't know. I probably won't get to go as a guy from my department is already going, but maybe.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Nope - Anna lives in Austin - she moved there with Lance a few years ago. Of course, she's no longer with Lance. But she figures he was worth it, a little bit at least, as he got her to Austin. Aunt Nancy is in Dallas. She lives really close to Allison.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Oh, that's right, bc he works for Dell. Forgot.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Except, he was laid off. And his wife - the one who he cheated on Anna with - ended up working for the same company that Anna works for now. But then, she was laid off a few weeks ago. That karma's a bitch.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

What does Anna do?

I posted in the Spain thread

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

She's an event planner for Vignette - it's a high tech company in Austin. She also coordinates all their trade show appearances and attends the trade shows. It's a pretty cool job.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I responded in Spain.

Good lord, my head is stuffed up.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'm back, y'all. MAN - who told me to get this Gram Parsons Tribute album? Was it T?

AB, I know you want me to get some stuff of his that I don't have, but I IMPLORE you to go out TODAY and get this tribute. It will KICK YOUR ASS.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Yay! It was me! I ROOOOOOOOOVE that album! I'm so glad you like it. I like every single one of those songs.

Ooh, Al, I'm giving C the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack for his birthday - T Bone Burnett produced it - it has an amazing tri- ette (I don't know if that's the word) with Emmylou, Allison Krauss, and Gillian Welch.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Now I have "She" stuck in my head. But that's okay.

Al, when we saw Emmylou Harris a few months ago, that was the album she played before Robert Earl Keen took the stage.

Oh, how I wish I was going to be in Houston this Monday night when REK and Lyle Lovett play the rodeo.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Herro?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Al - are you getting passes, or are you just going to sxsw? Bc the music pass is $500.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

$500?? Shite! I think Jazz Fest is like, $15. The fun begins when you get to see my sisters, in their little halter tops and cutoffs, convincing the gate guys that yes, they are 12 and under, and yes, they should definitely get in for $5.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Well, sxsw isn't remotely similar to jazzfest. It's not a musical festival, it's a trade show. So yeah, passes are expensive and the music ones are the most expensive of all. Interactive is only like $200, and Interactive and Film together is like $350.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

That's very true. My friend Lauren's (the one who was pregnant in Spain) husband is an entertainment attorney and he gets to throw down at SXSW every year.

Is the guy at your work going for work?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'll be back soon - it's time for lunch. Something spicy.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Yeah, they're all going for work. If I go, it'll be for work. There's no way I could afford it personally.

Why do I keep going to Panera? I hate Panera.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'm here. Sorry, y'all, I am so behind on my MATH!

Love the GP tribute. Love the O Brother. I haven't even seen that movie yet - we're seeing it this weekend - but as soon as I saw the first trailer, I ran out and got the soundtrack. It is so fucking goooooood.

I'm getting a wristband for the sxsw music - it's $85. Not $500, but it still hurts. The wristbands get you into the shows after the people with passes have gone in, and before the general public gets in.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

How come they don't mention the wristbands on the site? Hmm. Shady! Idea!

So you'll be there Fri-Sun and then Fri-Sun?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

And sometime in the middle.

The wristbands are like a local secret for Austin people who want to go to the show. You have to buy them IN Austin. I think they go on sale next weekend. Do you want one!?!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Al - did you reslove yesterday's issue? Did you finish that behemoth evil plan?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I can let you know today!

I'll probably want one for interactive and one for music. But we'll see.

I'm hoping to go tues-fri and least, but hopefully tues-sun, but if they don't let me stay over the weekend, i'll just stay and pay for my own hotel those 2 nights.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I think the wristbands are only for music. Dude! You could hang out with me and E and the MOC!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Now, are Pamie and Stee going to sxsw together?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

You might not even have to pay for a hotel. Trejo had an audition for something at NYU, and if he gets a call-back, it will be for that weekend and we'll stay at his apt.

pamie and stee are both speaking at the interactive. I think it's on a Tueday or something - so I won't get to hear it, but Chris and I are going the weekend prior. At some point, I plan to taking stee into a deserted alley and beating his ass, because he is putting the pressure on her CRAZY strong.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Oh, my god YES, that means I'd get to hear pam speak.

I'm going. End of story. shit. Now I have to get approval.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I did not resolve yesterday's issue, no. Although I did talk to Chris forever last night, and he was super sweet to me, as always. We'll talk about it this weekend.

I am still working on the Freaking Behemoth Plan. It is more than 30 pages.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Oooooo! Now I am 300 times more excited about it. I hope you can do it! Hooray!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Allison, I'm gonna take that plan into an alley and beat it if it keeps taking you away from MATH.

You know what my favorite part of my guest entry was? Womyn! Love yourselves!

And y'all didn't even comment on my ability to work in "automobills."

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Oh, Joh, I liked the "womyn" part the best.

Stee needs a big-ass beating. You know, I read his three most recent entries, and I don't think that I would like him at all if I were to meet him in person. Like, seriously. He seems so full of shit, and so, so self-centered (and that's saying a lot, coming from me).

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Okay I asked for approval. So yes, get me a music wristband, and find out if you can get them for interactive.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I actually like plaintive wail a lot. I've read it longer than pam, I think, or around the same time.

He's just too crazy on her.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

"Honestly, I'd rather that we buy a $300 wedding set from Target or something."

Yes, that would be flaya.

And what is it with PigFatt all, "dumb padders"?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Okay, today is going by more slowly than yesterday did.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Hmm, where is that? It might be time for Ratsy to pull out some old quotes/

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

It's actually in the most recent padding thread.

What freaks. They all suck.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

shit! Pamie deleted the Why Pad thread. Just when I wanted to throw his own words back in his face - denied!

That blows.

Flayah didn't lose her job, in case any of you were concerned. Hmm, but I havent' seen Rudertrash around today....

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I think she has her review today. And if the note that her roommate posted (jdh) is any indication, I wouldn't be shocked to see ruder holding up the Holly 'Hood Video this time tomorrow.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

ooh, a note? Where?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Dear squishites.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Is it evil of me to hope she gets fired?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Um, no. Considering that I don't know when she ever actually did any work during the past six months.

On the other hand, we'd have to deal with her whining and al the ***hugs*** that would surely follow suit.

I'm still tryign to figure out why I even give a hoot about these people. Just like how I'm trying to figure out why most of the journals I read are just train wrecks, and I read them for that exact reason. It's one ting to relish a little shadenfreude once in a while, but should I waste this much of my time on it?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Some people have soap operas, we read Leigha's journal.

And really, that takes about 3 secs. Don't fret.

Ruderschmo. Living in the Smyrna ghetto.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

And girl, she is in the ghetto. I bet she eats at the Fat Boy every damn night.

(Of course, y'all know that as soon as you come to Atlanta, we're going to eat at the Fat Boy.)

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I return, yet again. H - I just sent you an e-mail to your work address regarding the sxsw wristbands.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

She got fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Get. Out. Where is that?

I mean, I feel sort of bad for her because you know, that sucks, but at the same time, it's not like they didn't warn her.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!!!!???!!!! You are KIDDING me?

Where?! Where is it?!?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Okay, I might be jumping. Go read the last page on the fuzz

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Ohhh, I just read it. She either got her ass kicked, or she got fired. Either way, it can't be good. Stupid Pigfatt. Y'all know I hate him.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Oh yes, we do know that. I wish we could slam his PigFatty words back in his face about the padding, the whiny baby.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Okay, so if there are any slamming good web fares from Columbus to Atlanta or Dallas to Atlanta or DC to Atlanta, y'all know that you should come to the party, right?

I finally got all the invitations out. I know, it's a faux pas as it's less than two weeks notice. But whatever. Now I get to both cook and move my ass out of my old apartment.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

They must be either a. on a huge conference call b. in a huge email ring consoling her because their thread just shut down. (except for sweet Fred, who evidently now has a GIRLfriend?!!)

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

They must. I figure that sooner or later, either a ***hug*** will pop up, soon folowed by a bitter DSAS letter from ruderho to her former employers.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Dude, I just wanna knoooow. I wish someone would post something.

al - can you access the forum archives? I wonder if pamie deleted the why pad thread or if she archived it.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Is Mike coming in today?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I think he comes in at 6, but I'm not sure.

Man how I wish RG still had AIM so one of y'all could IM her. Oh, well, she wouldn't be at work now anyway, would she! Ha.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

No - she left no later than 4:45 every day.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I hate Allison's marketing plan.

No one's replying to my Looks thread.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

What looks thread?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

In Why Girls are Weird.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

poor poor deluded drew.

That kid just does not quit.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I responded to your thread, baby.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'm heading out, y'all. We're having a late Valentine's/early birthday dinner at the most amazing place ever. It is like foie gras heaven. Unfortunately, as my head is stuffed to the brim, I won't be able to taste a bite.

Al, good luck with your plan. AB, have a great night. Mike, god luck at work. Sorry about Maryland last night. Joh, talk to you soon.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'm out, too.

Man, why am I so annoyed that I don't know what happened. whew. Let it go sister.

Adios.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

And once again, I arrive as the party's breaking up.

Shite.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Hey, Bermanator. I'm still here. I just missed out on a lot of MATH today. Clearly, there is a global experience going on to keep us down, because even Texas Health Resources is in on it.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Man, I can't wait until April. Less nights.

I'm so jealous of y'all for sxsw.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

It sounds like rg is either gone, or she's been told she can't surf the web anymore.

I would guess she was fired, only because it seems like she's had prior warnings (didn't they disable her IM?).

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I'm here, and I too missed out on a ton of MATH today. Wah!

RG being fired is the funniest thing evah. If she is, in fact, fired. I keep checking to see.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Actually, I take that back...

I don't think she was fired, but I think she was told to not spend any time surfing the net. If she were canned, you'd see all the fuzzies writing nasty "Dear rg's boss" letters. I'll bet she e-mailed people saying she was in very serious trouble, and asking them to please not write angry letters, since her boss has been known to access the site.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Her boss is boo, right? She is cool as shite.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Y'all. My stupid Internet Marketing/ Communications Strategy Plancakes? Gonna be like, 50 pages. But I am about to turn the shit in, yo.

Of course, this is just Draft 1.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

boo is, in fact, her boss.

Man, now's where I wish I hadn't burned all bridges with the fuzz people. I'm sure they know the deal. Somehow I doubt that PigFatt will volunteer the info if I ask him.

Maybe pamie knows?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I mean, she's only posted 4,000 times in like 4 months. I've posted about 1500 times in six months, and I'm certainly on there plenty. I can't imagine how much time she spends there. Wah! I wanna know what happened!!

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

H!

Did you get approved for sxsw?!? Will the celebration begin?

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

I was actually a little worried back in the NJC election that I'd somehow forget to log off one day, and someone would come in and find the site. But I think I'd be OK now. My post-per-day average has dropped dramatically.

So here's my logic -- RG's problem could either be health- or job- related. If it's a health thing, she (or the fuzzies) would be all about the sympathy, and instead they're being very quiet. So that can't be it. And if she were canned, they'd do the same thing unless rg's worried that boo will see any negative comments on the board and give her a bad recommendation.

So I think she was told, in no uncertain terms, not to spend time on the Internet, and to concentrate on her job instead.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Ok. Funniest thing ever just happened.

I have to print out these supporting documents for my plan - including the registration pages for some search engines and stuff like that. So, I print out the Yahoo! Health home page where it lists all the HEALTH categories you could possibly register your site under. The banner ad at the top is for the dvd of "Sixth Sense."

Except that it's just a picture of that kid's head and four words. "I SEE DEAD PEOPLE."

Niiiiiiiiice. I'm totally going to attach it. No way am I printing it out again - that will give Napoleon and his evil boss QUITE a shock.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Excellent. I sent the F-er off.

Love y'all. Going now to get Beautiful Lowe Closet - I MEAN - Apartment ready for Beautiful Meat Of Cheese Varentine Party.

Also have to go the grocery store. Life ain't so bad now that I turned in that stupid thing. I actually feel like I might be in a good mood again someday.

MATH is the light in my dark little corner. Latah on, loved ones. I'll check in before I hit the hay.

AB - I missed you today! Oskalah Dahskalah.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Now, y'all. Ya jags. I expected a little more here when I checked in at 10:48 CST... what's shakin'?

I updated, if anyone's around.

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

Well, clearly I'm still here.
