When are we going back to different teams?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread |
I have been watching since the first season and really have enjoyed the show. I am most put out when I miss an eppisode. But I do have to say that I an dissapointed in this current season. I found it much more enjoyable when it was a group of different teams competeing in a single elimination style tournament, than the same teams every week with just a new advisor. Will the format go back to competeing teams from all over? I, at least hope so.

I believe that this is a re-run of the first season when they only had two teams for the entire season. I agree, I like the current format.I would like the current format better if Mr. Fixit (our team) is in the lineup.

I got the impression from the advertising that it was supposed to be a new season. But after going through some of the other questions and answers that this is a rerun season. I would love to get involved myself, but unfortunately my skills are in making various forms of medieval leather and chain armor. Not exactly the right kind of skill for this. Good luck if you get in.

Why not have two teams make armor, then have a battle? The team that gets the lowest number of serious injuries (points awarded for lost limbs, and big points for a kill) would win and go on to the next challenge. This would be a good championship challenge, as both teams would likely get a lot of damage, and not be able to compete the following week. Finally, a new challenge idea! Hey, it's a joke, ok?

"You're hurt""No I'm not!"
"I cut off your arm!"
"Its only a flesh wound (spuirt, squirt)... Come back here!"

Now, I like Waddy Thompson's suggestion. At 6ft., 310lbs, that's a challenge I would enjoy. To arms!

Too silly, too silly....But seriously, I've been unhappy to see good teams eliminated with one run of bad luck - or lose as a very, very close second. On the other hand, there are some teams I wouldn't want to see get repeatedly blown away for a whole season. I'd like somewhere between these two extremes.
So how about a loser's bracket? That, or double elimination? That could add some extra stress to the episode as well: "Well the ____ team is fighting hard today - if they lose again, they are out of the running..."
