Country Journal Magazine - Out of Business?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I've heard rumor that Country Journal magazine just sent out it's last printing. I have not heard anything from the publisher and still have a year left on my subscription. Does anyone know if it is true and what the company plans to do for the subscribers. Thanks

There was a thread about this a week or so ago, should be in the archives under Other Forums/Mags/Sites. Someone there said they were told they would receive a refund. However, when a publication folds it normally because of finances, so I don't consider that likely. What probably will happen is another publication will buy out their subscriptions in hope their old readers will switch to them.

Hi David, I am sorry to say the magazine is stopping print with the March issue. I recieved an email from Country Journal Mag. saying just that. They told me, they will be in contact with subscriber's about their subscription's. Didn't say when or what the choices would be. I will be sorry to see it go, but it has went through alot of changes lately and i wondered if this would happen.

Yep, Country Journal was folded by the company that owns it (Primedia) I was only 3 issues into my subscription when it happened, and they finished my subscription with copies of Horticulture magazine (published by the same company)which was a little too upscale/scientific for my taste. But too bad. Maybe someone will resurrect it or another like it. (Though nothing beats Countryside)
