I am sure this was discussed in the past... but I have to say the disqualification of the Yellow team last night was way too convenient. If the Yellow team had won (which in my mind they should have), they would have been ahead 4 victories to 1 and so the season would have been over (at least as far as the competition aspect of the show was concerned). You could have just as easily disqualified the Orange team for having to push off the wall to stear their boat; and, there was no mention of disqualification when the Orange team broke their chain and had to push Bowser around the track last week (I know, they were losing anyway).

I am just interested to know if other people felt the disqualification was fishy.

I always hate to see teams lose on something like that, but I guess that's how it goes. But it does seem odd that there wasn't any question about pushing off of the wall.

I think a more serious aspect of this whole thing is that the NERDS lost the fireboat challenge in the finals in a subsequent seasons. Brothers In Arms paddled their way to victory with no disqualification. Ironically enough captain Dick was involved in both. Boo Hiss.

That just further reinforces my belief that the disqualification in the motor boat episode was to keep the competition alive, and not because of any rules violation. I guess this is the distinction between "Competition" and "Entertainment," I think we can clearly see which JYWs is based on the decision to disqualify.

I cried "disqualified" before the announcer did. A power boat should run on something other than human power. Otherwise they would have called the challenge "rowboats" or just "boats". Yellow still had a chance to win, if the orange team's boat died before they caught up with the yellow's. I assume then that the leader at that point would be the winner. The yellow boat was a cool design; it just didn't work as well. I was surprised that the "expert" on the orange team did not suggest a daggerboard for the catamaran. It would have steered a LOT better with one.
