I am visiting relatives in New York City next month. Any suggestions of good Leica stores to visit? I realise this could be dangerous armed with a credit card but oh well.....

About 10-15 miles outside NYC in Westwood, NJ is a store named Bergen County Camera. I have purchased all of my Leica equipment there over the years and they are the best I've dealt with. I usually see Bobby for help. I recommend him highly. I know they ship also. 201- 664-4113 is the phone number I believe. Good luck..

Also, Stan Tamarkin on South Broadway, in the Greenwich Village area, is worth a visit not only for the vast array of M and R gear-- including many lenses-- but also for the photo gallery and the books.

I can vouch for Rich at Photovillage. I bought my M6 and a 35mm lens from him and found him to be great guy to deal with--not at all what you'd expect from a NY camera store :-)...

Ken Hansen (www.phototoys.com) - I've been dealing with them both buying and selling for close to 30 years. Interesting enough they will often match or beat the "bait and switch" outfits that you should stay away from - like AAA Camera. I've sometimes got the best price on USA Leica gear from B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com) and Adorama (www.adoramacamera.com) but 99% percent of the time Ken Hansen has the price if you ask.
