Wow Wow Wow!!!!! (Snow Storm)greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
The snow here is MARVELOUS!!! (Marlboro,MA) Going out isn't even an option... can't get to the cars yet. Shoveled a little, and trudged around in it. The chow chow is delighted. Kind of wish we had a coupla eight year olds to play with out there. There are a solid couple of feet on the flat areas, with drifts over my head. WOW!! Anybody else happy about this? :)

If I had *any* way of getting them to your place you could have my daughters-ages 14 and 17. They are seriously getting on the one nerve I have left. It's still snowing hard, and the wind is coming up. They are going to school tomorrow if it's cancelled or not (I'm serious).Stacy Rohan who's praying for school in Windsor, NY

It's 64 degrees and partly cloudy here today. You can have your snow.

My plum trees budded out, fared o.k. with the 28 deg temp last night cause the wind kept blowing to prevent frost and it warmed up. I hope we don't get the hard freeze we are due from the east coast tonite before the rains.

We had a little over a foot where I live (100 miles NW of NYC). The media carried on, caused a frenzy for bread and milk. People looked so stupid on TV as they "stocked up" for the end of the world! Everything is closed near NYC and I don't know why. They only got a few inches there. I've gotten out every day thus far, have gone shopping and ran errands. Frankly, I"m tired of snow. My chives are sprouting indoors--I planted them early because I long for spring. My bird feeders are busy as can be--I"m the only source of bird food for miles around!

Happy about the snow?!!? The only thing that makes me happy is that it STOPPED! Seriously, I would enjoy it a lot more if I had the option to stay home. (Nothing is going to stand in the way of paying off debt so I can get to MO as soon as possible!) I was out there delivering newspapers in a foot of snow, before the plows had hit a lot of the side streets, took 2 and 1/2 hours. Then I shoveled for an hour and then I went to work. I felt really good about the effort I put into my day; I was physically exhausted, and fell into bed at 6:30 pm. I got up at 4 am and did it again today. I really tried to appreciate the beauty of it, but I'm afraid it beat me up pretty bad. But....the beautiful thing is this; because of CS Mag and this wonderful forum, I know that without a doubt, I will make a life for myself that will allow me to really enjoy all the things God and Mother Nature offer us. I'll soon have time to "smell the roses".

I'm with you, I love the snow too, although it's too cold for even me to go sledding down our wonderful hills, wind chill way below zero, the horses don't mind a bit, dogs don't like the wind though!!!

I like the snow, too.... The sparkles on the ice crust up here really DO look like diamonds!!! Never saw anything like that back in Chicago-But, its in the 50's here, and I'll take that, too... Its hard to get clothes to dry outside when its freezing temps and snowing!!!!
