hello, I can't find an original lens hood for my Canon Demi ee17 half frame. I may have found a solution to the problem but I need some feedback before I'll be sure. OK, here's the deal: The Demi has a 30mm lens which in half frame translates to the same coverage as a 42mm lens in full frame. It has a 30.5mm thread and a hood for a Rollei 35 S with the 2.8 lens would fit on it. The Rollei 35 has a 40mm lens. Would it vignette? Does a 30mm lens require the same angle hood if its used on a full frame as it would if used on a half frame? I'd appreciate any light that can be shed on this subject. thanks

It's hard to say. Perhaps you could get the merchant to let you try it for a roll. If it does vignette, it might be possible to cut it down by 1/8 inch or so.
