So I'm ready to make a portfolio, and I want it to appear professional, yet not so hum-drum. My printed images are roughly 8x10(full frame 35mm format image printed on 8x10 fb paper, mixed with some 7x7 inch medium format images). My initial though was to drymount each image on a 2-ply 16x20 peice of matte (so that the matte is bigger vertically, and the image favors the top of the matte) and add a 2-ply window matte on top. This sandwhich would then be drymounted together and kept in a clear, acid-free sleeve. I was thinking of then getting a metal-cornered type portfolio box to transport and store the portfolio. I have several questions....1) is it acceptable to use the window matte in a portfolio, or is this overkill? 2) I've looked at local art stores, and all that seems to be available is the boring stereotypical zip-folder style portfolio. Does anyone know of a source on the web for presentation boxes/cases that would be suitable for a portfolio? I appreciate all of your questions and comments greatly, as this will be my first 'real' portfolio.

I've got a few Calumet presentation cases that I like even better than my Light Impressions ones. They have double handles, fold flat and are plenty rugged to boot. Check them out too. Regards, :^D)

I have purchased fine art photography in the past. I hate 8 x10 in 16 x 20 mounts. take a look at 14 x 18 mounts before you mount in 16 x 20. Kevin
