Novartis recalls migraine drug with mixed-up tabletsMONTREAL (CP) - Novartis Pharmaceuticals Canada Inc. announced today that it's recalling a migraine-fighting pill because foreign tablets have been found in some bottles containing the drug.
The company is recalling its Sandomigran DS (pizotifen - double strength) Lot COL01371 pills dispensed between Jan. 23 and March 30 are affected.
Using the foreign tablets found in the bottles could lead to significant drops in blood pressure in certain individuals, the company said in a release.
Consumers who had their prescription of the drug filled in the specified time period are asked to return the pills to their local pharmacy for replacement.
