Hi all. I know Gayla has developed a bond here. She has emailed me and asked for prayer for her son Eric who is in trouble with the law. She didn't ask me to do this but for those of you who know her and believe will you say a prayer for him and oh yeah for her too. Thanx

(((((((All of you))))))) Thanks for your prayers. We need them! We got some encouraging news yesterday, but we still have a long way to go till things are resolved.

Gayla,Any new developments in Eric's situation?
-- gene (ekbaker@essex1.com), April 14, 2001.
Thank you, Rob!Gene, we're learning that nothing moves quickly in the justice system. A hearing in court is required for almost everything you do. Everyone has been very helpful, though, from the judge to the FBI. We're extremely thankful for that, and for the prayers of friends and family. This week Eric will go through a variety of tests. Don't know how long it will be until we get the results back.
On a personal note, before church this morning we started our day by going to visit him in jail. As I thought back about Easter mornings when he was young, I couldn't stop the tears. This has been one of the hardest things I've ever been through. Thank you for praying for ME also.

After being beaten up the second time, we were able to get Eric out of jail as third party custodians. They all said it couldn't be done, but God and a persistent mom are a pretty good team. :-) His court date is set for July 23rd. (They say this judge is a tough one... thanks for continuing to pray.)
-- Gayla (privacy@please.com), June 04, 2001.
Thanks for the update, Gayla. We'll continue to keep you in our prayers.
-- TRicia the Canuck (jayles@telusplanet.net), June 06, 2001.
The court date has been moved up. Eric will be sentenced this Friday, July 13th. We're praying for mercy and hoping for probation. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Gayla, we'll keep all of you in our prayers. Heck of a court date he's got there.
-- helen (pray@harder.now), July 09, 2001.
You and your son are in my thoughts. Hoping for the best.
-- (PatriciaS@lasvegas.com), July 10, 2001.
Gayla, I hope you're able to sleep tonight. I'll be praying for you and Eric for sure.
-- Tricia the Canuck (jayles@telusplanet.net), July 13, 2001.
Thanks to ALL of you for your thoughts and prayers. Eric was NOT sentenced today. (The prosecutor thought he would be. He is the one who told our attorney it would be today.) He DID enter a plea of guilty before the judge. There will be more interviews with pre- trial services and more reports. Sentencing won't be until late October. (Nothing speedy about this process!) It's an emotional roller coaster, but the prayers have really helped. Thanks!
-- Gayla (privacy@please.com), July 13, 2001.
Wow! Hard to believe it took 9 months (to the day!)We finally had the sentencing this morning. The judge gave Eric 3 years probation. I can't tell you how relieved and thankful we are!
What's amazing too, is all of the other wonderful things that have come about as a result of this incident. BB, you were right. :-)
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and a BIG thank you to God for mercy!

Very good news Gayla! A judge wise enough to look beneath the surface, and the support of a family. Tell Eric I said to put it behind him, and NEVER go back there again. I'm proud of you both.---
-- Lon Frank (lgal@exp.net), January 04, 2002.
Wonderful news, indeed, Gayla!!! Hope all else goes as well. :-)
-- Tricia the Canuck (jayles@telusplanet.net), January 04, 2002.
What a relief for your family! Blessed indeed friend! May the road ahead be free of stones and BOULDERS! Hugs to ya!
-- Aunt Bee (Aunt__Bee@hotmail.com), January 04, 2002.
YAY!!! I hope the long wait gave him time to plan what he wanted to do if he got to keep his freedom. Kind of like gestation period. Good luck to him.
-- helen (sigh@of.relief), January 05, 2002.
Thrilled more than you can imagine to hear this news, Gayla!
-- Brooke (LoveAbides@Hill.top), January 06, 2002.
