Funny, but in the 1950s, member of the opposition party accused the President of the U.S. of A. of being addle pated because at his press conferences, Dwight David Eisenhower, would use rather tortured syntax to answer questions or make statements.

By 1956 (Election Year), the opposition party insisted that this was proof that DDE's mental facilities were wavering. That persisted until he left office with what is now called his "Farewell Address" in which DDE warned that a combination of Military and Big Business (the famed "Military/Industrial Complex") ....was potentially very dangerous to the U.S. of A. The left used this mightily against one Barry Goldwater in 1964 and again Nixon in 1968 and 1972.

Now the real question to be asked was at what point Dwight David Eisenhower had made his rather remarkable comeback from Senility. Was it a sign of Medical Cures to come? Some secret treatment ?

In the last 20 years, the Historians have reworked D.D.E. into a veritable Font of Greatness hidden away from silly members of the "opposition". In fact, Doris Goodwin, chronicler of LBJ, insisted that D.D.E. DELIBERATELY was "obtuse" and used "tortured syntax" because IT SERVED HIS PURPOSES VERY WELL.

For those who doubt President Ike was a great politician, ask how he was able to rise from Light Bird to Five Star General and Supreme Commander of the European Front in less than 6 years. And from "retired Military Hero" to Presdent in 7 more.

Then wonder how the current target of nasty mouths has gone from being President of a Baseball Club to Gov. of the 2nd largest State to President of the United States in less than 8 years.

Then, 20 years from now, when History and the record are assessed, what will the Historians say of the current crop of Buffoons trying to make a laughing stock out of GWB much as they did with Gerald Ford and Reagan and Bush Sr. and IKE.
