The worst one I ever saw (I saw him on TV) was back in the 60s I think. Anyway, he was employed by whatever chemical company made DDT. He was so scornful of people who were worried about DDT, didn't they realize that pollution occurred in nature all the time. The one example he gave was that pollen from pine trees fell on water sources all the time, streams and rivers.

Well, a couple of small points here:

Pine tree pollen is not indestructible. DDT is.

Pine tree pollen is not a biocide. DDT is.

And then the tobacco companies had theirs - 'it has not been demonstrated that cigarette smoking causes cancer,' this after it was obvious to the meanest inteligence.

A company can always find a whore scientist who will use his degree to hide the fact that he is just a paid gun, no matter what appalling things the company may be doing.

And I bet the energy companies have the best bunch of whore scientists that you ever did see, to muddy the waters on the global warming issue.

No offense intended Peter. I don't like professionals that sell-out either but eventually most folks have to compromise their principles to some degree.
