Four Person Pedal Car?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread |
How about the two teams create a four person pedal-car. They would build essentially a four person bike powered by their legs. A race would be the only way to compete. I love this show more then any show ever. I plan on creating a 3 wheeled car to pull of my boat this summer using a moped, bike parts, and oh maybe everything else. Thanks, Sam Gruen

See the Land Yacht episode...it was real close to this challenge!

You mean that cloth-covered wheelbarrow race, Dan? I think Sam want's them to pick their feet up and pedal the thing. (Just wait 'til he gets a load of Art Attack!)

What's the name of the exercise machine where it feels like you are walking up a staircase? Couldn't you use the energy created by that to do such a thing? But then there probably aren't four of those in most junk yards, huh. But you could tie your feet to boards.

It is called a stairmaster. I don't think that would be the way to go though. Just regular bikes with regular gears do the best.

I got to pedal a stair-climber powered tricycle once. (A treadle trike.) It was commercially produced about six years ago and way over priced. You stood straight up on it, but it had a pad to lean back against. It was geared hideously high, but once you got it moving, you hardly had to move your legs or bend you knees at all. The thing is, it cornered like a phone booth on a roller skate. Yeow!
