An old indian chief. [Christian Material]greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
With arms the size of a normal man legs this older man is something else to see. He's in his mid 70's, survivor of a massive heart attack about 15 years ago, and still can outwork anybody that I know that's half his age. He hits the ground arunnin each morning. It's either the old International tractor a runnin or the chainsaw---or both. The man goes from sunup to sundown without much of a break for dinner or supper. Runs Black Angus cattle-the doctor told'm to sell 15 years ago] but yet he continues to expand with more and more breeding stock. What does this old dude know? I don't know--cept'n he's outlived his doctor who was 20 years younger than he is. I suppose the work'n has helped'm to survive this long.He is a good neighbor but don't want anybody bother'n him. He'll take time to visit with almost anybody but he don't want anybody try'n to take over in his domain. I don't blame'm one bit. I love my privacy too and do not infringe upon his turf and he doesn't infringe upon mine either.
He told me about 6 months ago that I'd probably heard stories about'm in town, about bein crazy. I told'm no that I didn't loaf in town at all. I'd much rather be home where I can do as I pleas purty much. He told me that he was an old resurrected indian chief--not reincarnated--resurrected! I had to laugh at that statment but he was dead searious. He's still a fine guy and would help out in a minute if asked. Id' do the same for him too.
He talks about the "Good Book" and what we can expect from the gov't. Asked me about a year ago which side I stood on--his or the Gov't. I didn't know we were choosin up sides just yet but figgered I'd just stay outta their fuss'n and fued'n.
The times will wax worse and worse before Jesus Christ comes for His own. "Come up hither" is the words that He will shout to His own. Is your name included in the Lambs Book of Life? He will be coming soon. Matt.24:44

Hoot, I just love you stories, I think you should post one every morning so when we are all having our cup of coffee we can start our day off right with a warm feeling. God Bless.

Hoot -What a WONDERFUL little post!!! He knows a couple things that old doctor forgot about... Faith and hard work. I'll bet we could all learn a little something from that 'old Indian!!'
Thanks for the post!
