The paska is rising in the oven and the kolackys will be ready tomorrow. We have 44 lambs so far and the barn is chaos. Time to remember.............

A grandma who made her paska in a huge tub--enough for 12 children, 12 spouses and 23 grandchildren. Dozens and dozens of plum and 'applecot' kolacky for desert.

My Dad who helped his grandson with his first Easter egg hunt. Such excitement when they found an egg. My Dad offering to carry the basket for Jeremy. Jeremy too young to count, not worried about how many were in the basket. My Dad taking them out of the basket and hiding them again as fast as Jeremy put them in. OOOh look! Over there! Another egg!

If I could have anything in the world, I'd pick Easter 1977 one more time.

Anyone else have some memories to share?

I remember a friend of mine told me once that we OUGHT to celebrate Easter the best, because it's the resurrection of Christ ... but to be honest, we always cut the rug more at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Christmas is the big holiday at our house.

Doesn't mean we didn't observe Easter, it just wasn't as big as Christmas.

Maybe I just need a celebration of life and rebirth. The snow has finally melted in even the shady spots, the grass has turned green overnight and there are birds chirping, trilling and squawking everywhere.

My Dad and grandma have long since passed away and the little boy is now 24. There is mad cow, hoof and mouth, arsenic, national park invasions and the easy capitulation of holding that meeting in Bejing to worry about. But......

It's Easter. It's spring. Hard to worry when it is 65 degrees out.
