Looking for a good supplier of Garlic spray for plants and powdered garlicgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I am looking for a good supplier of garlic barrier spray and other organic pesticides. I now kind of buy things at all different places and would like to find one good source. We are going to be putting in ten acres of organic veg. next spring. Plus, I am looking for a good source of pure powdered garlic in bulk(20-30# purchases)that I feed to my livestock.Thank You Craig

Craig, I can't help with the barrier spray except to ask if you've considered mixing your own batch, but www.bulkfoods.com has great prices on powdered garlic and other spice in quantities from 5 to 50 lbs., free shipping, but there is a $4.95 handling fee per order. Hope this helps- good luck with your garden!

You are your own best, cheapest and most knowledgeable supplier of garlic spray!!Any good healthfood store will carry bulk garlic powder (which EASILY dissolves in water), and most herb companies will carry organics. I don't have any specific ones.

Hi Craig! Just found a garlic spray recipe in a book last week that I am going to try. You mince up 3 oz. of garlic, really fine. Put in a container with 2 tsp of mineral oil and let soak for 24 hours. You then strain out the garlic peices and you add 16 oz of water to the oil. This is your spray but it is concentrated. They say when you go to use take 1-2 Tablespoons of the oil and add another 16 oz of water. I havn't tried it yet, but plan to soon. :-) ~ Brenda ~

Hello, I have never heard of using garlic spray in the garden, though I am not an expert gardener. Just what insects does garlic keep away? I would much rather use natural prays than chemicals. Thanks Jerry

Craig: We purchased 5 gallon buckets of powdered garlic last fall to feed to our horses to help repel flies. We ordered from Springtime, a company that sends catalogs of natural and herbal pet and livestock supplements. I'll see if I have one around and post the phone and address later today. Jan
