I heard it was already out in the far east. But who knows. My buddy at Leica NY knew nothing about it whatsoever. Sheesh....

For those of you who don't read Chinese, it says in the Taiwanese Leica website http://www.leicafanclub.org/ (scroll to the middle of the page) that this is a collectors' M6 model, with the 0.72 viewfinder, is specially ordered from the Leica factory by Hong Kong's Leica agent (as the website emphasizes, it's not a Japanese paint job) and is believed to number less 300 in quantity. The camera body is identical to the M6 Millennium Black Paint model, and the "Military Green" (that's what it says in Chinese) finish is matt paint. I have seen one example on display in a camera shop on Stanley Street in Hong Kong (Kinefoto Ltd., 66-68 Stanley Street) earlier this year. The price? Doesn't say in the website, but you bet it's going to be exorbitantly expensive!

GREEN???? Who F***ing cares when it's available? Why don't they make some with pink pocidots, and maybe a few with zebra stripes?
-- Bill Mitchell (bmitch@home.com), April 17, 2001.
I would go for a rainbow one, maybe with small red harts all around, and of course a pink strap.

I'm waiting for my custom finish - Bart Simpson saying "Don't have a cow."

Your wish might just come true: Technicolor Leica.

Hmmm, zebra stripes sound kind of cool . . .

This is not too far off from Sean's "Bart Simpson 'Don't Have a Cow'" Leica model. Be careful what you wish for . . . .

Hey Bill, I don't care, but some people would, they're collectors and we just happen in the same forum.

Hoyin:Thank you for the message. I called several shops in Asia on 4/18/01. They do have the green Leica camera for sale. They just go the camera not too long ago. They did not want to tell me the price. He gave me a hint it will be like the M6 black paint price. I guess it's around $3,000 to $4,000 USD. He toll me this is the right time to buy the camera. You are getting the best price when the camera just start to sell on the market.
Per my personal opinion, the only speical edition M6 camera worth owning is the M6J.
I was interested in the black paint M6 camera for a while. I later on found out there are many other editons available other than the Millenium editon such as LHSA, Black dragon(Japan version) etc. I lost my interest.
M6J is still the king of M6.

Check out the "Austin Powers" commemorative Leica M-4 at Steve Gandy's Cameraquest.com web site - did somebody mention wanting a rainbow camera?
