T and I want a full report.

Was there karaoke? Did Allison smoke? Did the Bermanator dance?

Answers

Alas, no Lucinda this weekend. There were literally 300,000 people down there. We decided that we'd much rather see Lucinda when she comes through and plays at a smaller venue than fight 300,000 16-year- old Offspring fans for a cold beer.

Lucinda deserves better than that, I think. So, we went and ate Mexican food on Friday for an early CdeM, and Saturday night we got tore up at the Old Vinings Inn where they had a Johnny Cash cover band.

So you didn't go to Midtown Music at all?

Allison - I'm going to see Spoon tomorrow night.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Not at all. I regret not seeing Al Green and the Indigo Girls and Lucinda, but really, I do not regret not having to deal with all those tacky, tacky, Coweta County tube-top-clad and barbed-wire- tatooed 17-year-olds at all. We talked to some of our neighbors yesterday who said they would not be goung back, ever.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Well then you didn' miss anything. Besides, don't the Indigo Girls play every other Tuesday anyway?

Oh, and T, when you did get engaged, I better get a phone call, not some lame mass email shit.

Susan emailed to let me know she got the flowers. I'm glad they helped cheer her up a bit.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I'm sitting here, having coffee with the Bermanator. I don't think I can convey to y'all the amount of fun that was had this weekend. See, what had happened, is that we had had some, uh, martinis, and stuff, and some music, and yes, Berman danced.

Also, Allison smoked. But only once. Bah!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I would like to state for the record that when I do ever get engaged, there will be no mass emails about anything, ever.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Berman's still there? Was this weekend an extended dance remix?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

He came in Sat, leaves at noon today.

People, I'm at work. And I'm tired.

There was drinking and eating and baseball and lots of music. Lots. Who needs Lucinda when you have me and AB? Who, I ask you?

Y'all, bring me some coffee.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

There's coffee here, lady girl. If you'd slept on the Chao House Couch again, you could have sat on the Riviera with Berman and me.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Uh, and what would I have (had) done about you know, going to work and such?

Besides, I feel like I'm still ON the Riviera. The NAP I took between last night's Midnight Golf Guitar Show did not prepare me for the corporate world this morning. And somehow, even though I took a shower, I still smell like cigarettes.

I miss Berman already!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Is Hate Your Daddy down? I can't get to it. Also, is my new site working for y'all?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

HYD is down. I don't know when it will be back up. The person who serves it is out of town. I was afraid this would happen. I think she gets back tomorrow.

I can read the new T Goes to Town just fine! Hooray!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Yes, T, the new URL is perfect. And I changed all my links.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Thanks for the link changing. Hopefully people won't be firewalled out anymore.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Yes, Berman still smells like cigarettes, too.

Also, what we had did, was we had changed Berman's website, and whatnot. Y'all go look!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Ooh, I love the khaki. That looks good. What is the picture of? (I mean, I know it's a door, but is it a special door, is what I mean.)

Ugh. So much work to do today.

Y'all. I didn't go to music midtown, but guess where I did go. The state GOP Convention. It was a trip.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Hey! That looks great!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I know! Berman make pretty website!

The picture is just a random door we found on some photo website. I think it's from Pakistan or some such.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Ok, here's the only thing, and you may take it or leave it. In the entries, the purple linked type (aubergine?) does not stand out enough for me to notice without the underline.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Oh, I love that. The purple is okay on my iBook. It's not super standy outy, but I can read it.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Oh, so you Big Shot Designer now, huh? You think you so smart.

You're right, and I was just changing it. Berman's in the shower. He washing Chocolate Martini and smoke off body.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Poor, smelly Berman.

I could go to the airport with y'all, if you want.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Terribly Happy is down, too.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Allison, I hope y'all are here by August - here's the Chastain lineup:

Lyle Lovett/Shawn Colvin - Aug 12

Keb' Mo'/Bela Fleck - Aug 15

BeauSoleil/Mary Chapin-Carpenter - Aug 3

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Oh, good LORD.

We HAVE to be! Lyle! Bela! Mary C!

Y'all, I guess I'll at least be here through July. But then I have just got to go.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Well, I guess all y'all are at lunch.

Here are some of my more interesting Google referrals:

intellectual equality xenedrine New Orleans Junior League Cookbook boyfriend bowel hairy cysts pictures crappy cars crinolines

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

There should be breaks between those searches. Damn Greenspun.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Why do you think you'll be there through July?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Ma. Without Cassie running, Dominican's team came in 6th place in state.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Stupid.

Have other students said anything?

I don't like HYDless days. Did y'all take Berman to teh airport already?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I'm back. We took Mike to the airport and then went and had lunch at the Whole Foods by my office. It was delish.

How can it already be 1:30? Insane. I feel like I just got here. Oh, wait, I took an almost 2 hour lunch. Hee.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Did you ever figure out the anniversary thing?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I'm never eating anywhere ever again.

I miss Berman already!

Al, I think I'm going to do the Sassinator entry today.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I think that tickets to Lyle Lovett in Atlanta would be a mighty fine cheesiversary gift.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Yes, Lyle is the perfect gift for the cheesiversary. I have a few more weeks to worry about that - right now I have to decide something to give him for graduation this weekend.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Graduation's a tough one. I gave Duncan a wallet when he graduated. I have no idea why. Oh - I remember. I was making $18K a year.

Well, for Chris' 30th, I gave him a copy of the new translation of Democracy in America, among other things. It sounds like a dorky present, but he had mooned over it when they reviewd it in the NYT. He really liked it.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I just sent Chris an e-mail about the Sassy rap, and he cannot stop laughing, he said.

H and T, y'all are going to fall to pieces.

AB, you have GOT to put a picture of the Sassinator up with it.

I am the motherfuckin' Sassinator/

I ain't no playa hater/

I jump on top of the refrigerator/

Tryin' to be a perpatrator.

Yeah, I'm Sassy!/

And I'm classy!/

I got a white tail hangin' from my chassis!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Ooo, T, Democracy in America might be an excellent idea for the MOC... I will have to ponder on it.

I don't think there's been a gift-giving event at which I did not give him a book, though. But, you know, the man loves books...

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Oh my God, I can't wait to upload that.

Right now, though, I trying to fix Berman dumb site.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Exactly. Chris loves books, and he loves books involving American history or Reagan. They're sure-fire wins with him.

I bet that Chris and Chris will get along really well, actually. Just don't let the Reagan part get to you. I actually find it a little endearing now, sort of like the way I feel about his 10,000 comic books.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Books are also good because you can write sweet things on the inside cover.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Which I always do. For Valentine's Day, I gave him the unabridged Flannery O'Connor and wrote on the fly leaf: "Dear Chris, Good men are, indeed, hard to find. Thank God I found you."

People, don't you wish I was your girlfriend?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Wait. You're not my girlfriend?

Man.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Wait, it said "A good man" not "good men." You get what I'm saying.

AB, you can have the Sassinator entry, if I can write about "I'm a Survivor." I've got something good already.

H & T, y'all are going to feel just like you were here!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Oooh - that's a good one. The O'Connor thing, I mean.

Maybe I should buy Chris Carson McCullers' "Member of the Wedding."

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Okay, you can have "I'm a Survivor."

You thought I wanted the Survivor entry, but I had really wanted the Sassinator one...I'm a Survivor!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Heeeeeeee. You should.

T, he's gonna ask you. Fret not.

We had lunch Saturday with these friends of Mike's who live in town. They are engaged and the girl, Michelle... her ring... from Tiffany's... very beautiful...

I had to look away. It was gorgeous.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Have y'all ever heard that you have to polish platinum more since it scratches easier? I think my friend who just got engaged just got duped. I think that sounds like a load of crap. Her ring. Not gorgeous, which made me evily cackle because her fiancee suuuuucks. I've never seen a more obvious case of settling in my LIFE. So so sad. But she doesn't care enough to get out. She said as much.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Y'all, the "I'm a Survivor" thing... God, it kills me.

I was telling the Chaos and Berman how the MOC hates that song and got all persnickity because, he said, "It's just a song about things that are opposite of each other! You thought that I was livin'/ I was dyin'! I'm a Survivor!"

He hates it. So all weekend we were doing that. It's very funny if you sing it. When you get to the chorus, instead of singing the actual words, you just have to say "I'm a Survivor!" over and over again.

"Thought that I would eat a hamburger/ I had chicken.

Thought that was frontin'/ but I was trippin'.

Thought that I would take my car/ I went Greyhound.

Thought that I would talk a lot/ I made no sound.

I'm a Survivor/ I'm a Survivor, etc."

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I promised myself not to fret until after the end of May. I'm just so impatient. I mean, we've talked about it, we know what we're going to do, we know when we're going to do it - I'm just impatient, is all.

This morning, we were in bed and he was all smiley and said, "You know what? We've been living together for six months, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world.'

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Is that true, about platinum? I've never heard that...

That's so sad. Her fiance sucks AND he gave her a jag ring? Awful.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I don't think that's true, at all. That's not even true with white gold. The whoe reason platinum is more expensive is because it's about as strong as it gets. That jag probably set her stone in stainless steel, or something.

What cracks me up about the new Destiny's Child album is that it has a song called "Bootylicious" AND the special DC version of "Jesus Loves Me."

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I just like it when she says she won't compromise her christianity but it doesn't quite fit so she sort of has to mangle it. I just wonder what J.C. thinks about those outfits.

Right, platinum is the strongest metal. He's just a cheap asshole.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

It's sad when you have to give a disclaimer about your engagement ring every time you have to show it to someone, especially when you've only been wearing it for two days.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Yes, it is. She was all like - well Andy was going to get platinum, but the guy told him blah blah blah. And I'm biased, as I'm just not a fan of marquise cut.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Ew - it's marquis? I'm not a fan of that cut, either. It reminds me of rings I'd see tacky women wearing in Texas.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

AB - how do you do that thing where you make the link go bold when you roll over it?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

You make a style sheet and attach it to the page. It tells you how in the Dreamweaver help, and you can do all kinds of neat stuff with the links.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Do y'all use style sheets? I should've, as that way I guess you can redesign and it automatically changes all your old entries.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I don't use them, because we have them on our site at work, and I hate them, but HYD doesn't have any "design" to it at all, so I don't really need them.

I mean, I use courier type for a reason, y'all. I like the spare look, and I don't want to have to mess with it.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Do y'all know anyone who's email is nicholasbunny@home.com? He/she just signed up for the notify.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I don't.

But yay! New notify person. T, just so you know, Kimi reads you.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

It's amazing, the difference between weekend hits and weekday. Everyone must read from work.

What's weird is taht I have a pretty consisten number of readers, and I think I know at least half of them in real life.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I know about two-thirds of my notify list. Can Kim see my site now that it's at the new URL?

AB - thanks for updating the links.

I think I'm going to download PortaPimp for my Palm. I need to convince Chris do download PortaHo for his - then they can interact. Kick ass.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Yeah, she couldn't see the old one.

What's portapimp?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Have good nights, all.

I'm off to spin.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Oh, y'all. The Sassy entry is up. Go now, before I die on the floor by myself.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

KILLING ME. SASSY!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

oh my god, AB. The Sassinator.

I'm a big fatty fat and didn't go spinning. because I'm lazy.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

I'm about to head for home. I just bought Chris a 1999 Chin-Feng baseball card for part of his graduation present.

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Or maybe it will be part of his anniversary present. Maybe I'll get him something really legit for graduation...

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Oh my god, he'll die.

Where did you find it?

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

At amazon.com. One of their z-shops. I think he'll like it a lot.

I sort of had an idea for the rest of the anniversary present, too. I'll tell y'all about it if I can pull it off.

But... graduation! What to do?!

-- Anonymous, May 07, 2001

Well, I can't get into my yahoo mail, OR onto YM.

Yaaaaaaahhhhhhooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
