Hi all,

Does anyone know where I might find some detailed photo's of the passenger station at Johnson City, TN. Does anyone know if it's still there? Any help would be great...

People have long told me that the old SRR depot is still there...but is now a GoodYear(?) tire dealership. I have seen the tire store and yes, it does look like a depot but I have never been able to establish whether this rumor is true or not. It has the right kind of roof to be a depot and the building sits at an angle more appropriate to the railroad then the downtown streets but what has always bothered me is how far back from the railroad it sits. I suggest you call the tire store and ask them. The newspaper up there used to have a good photo archive, maybe they could help with a picture.

I was just up there, and it was not the Southern's Depot, but I belive it was the ET&WNC's. I know the Clinchfield Depot is across the tracks, but I don't know where the Southern's is. Hope this helps.

Sorry, the Southern station is long gone. The tire store is the old ET&WNC station but is hardly recongnizable. Efforts are being made to preserve the Clinchfield station across the street.
