National Homeloans - How do I deal with shortfall ?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread |
National Homeloans (Paragon) have started to chase me for an outstanding shortfall after five and a half years. I have been asking them to provide evidence but they send me all sorts of standard letters and non helpful paperwork and don't seem to be able to substantiate the amount they are claiming. How do I deal with these people and their solicitors R D Shelton, doe's anyone have experience ?

A good place to start is the Repossession section of this site plus the Do's and Don'ts sub-section of the Repossession section. Most of the stuff you need is well flagged: it relates to lenders that won't hand over documents, other people's experiences, what documents to ask for etc.Good luck,
Lee

NATIONAL HOMES LOANS 'REPOSSESSED' MY HOME JUST OVER 6 YEARS AGO - WE GAVE THEM OUR FORWARDING ADDRESS AND THEY HAVE HARRASSED US EVER SINCE. WE ARE NOW USING A SOLICITOR TO HELP US SORT OUT THE MESS. NONE OF THIER FIGURES TALLY, THEY NEVER TOOK OUT A REPOSSESSION COURT ORDER, JUST TOLD US THAT THEY COULD NOT CONTINUE TO ACCEPT THE PAYMENTS WE WERE MAKING (INTEREST ONLY) MY HUSBAND WAS OUT OF WORK AT THE TIME SO WE COULD NOT AFFORD FULL REPAYMENTS. OUR HOUSE WAS SOLD AT AUCTION, MORTGAGE OWING #67,000, HOUSE SOLD FOR #55,000 - WE NOW OWE NATIONAL HOME LOANS/PARAGON/LOM #35,000 - WORK THAT ONE OUT! UNFORTUNATLEY, DUE TO MOVING HOUSE SO OFTEN WE HAVE LOST ALL OF OUR ORIGINAL LETTERS ETC. MY ADVICE IS TO GET EVERYTHING IN WRITTING, PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITTING AND IF POSSIBLE GET PROFFESSIONAL HELP - MOST OF THE FIGURES AND DEMANDS MADE TO US BY NATIONAL HOME LOANS ETC HAVE ALL DIFFERED.
