The California I.S.O. System Load is surging rapidly between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday evening, 2001/06/03, far out of line with the projected load curve. See: http://www.caiso.com/SystemStatus.html

Why? Is the U.S. Military suddenly up to something big? Or is it just a computer glitch? Any ideas out there?

I just checked. As of 10:40 this evening the load was only 377 Megawatts above today's forecast--it's still in the 28,000 range. It's still a little strange though, on a cool Sunday evening when everything should pretty well be shut down.

Maybe it was a computer glitch.

Apparently you missed the fasttrack(before them Dems takeover) legislation Bush signed last Wednesday.

In the spirit of making this country fully bilingual, in helping assure a constant flow of dishwashers for Dubya's friends restaurants, the Shrub signed into law the "Lights for Wetbacks" Bill.

The bill requires the State of California light the borders. Not only in California, but the entire US/Mexico border BTW. Naysayers complained about the 24/7 provisions. They claimed the Sun was acceptable when it shined and we could save a few kilowatts when it was high in the sky by exempting daylight protions of the bill. Bush balked, and claimed this would hurt Enron's profits and Ken Lay's new yacht purchase.

The legislation is scheduled to take full effect on Sunday June 4, 2001.

In a related matter, the owners of Chuy's restaurant again wanted America to know they are SORRY, and also they have plenty of dishwashers, but support Bush 110% from here on out(till he is tossed).

They did however indicate they are in need of a server and night manager however. They had a recent BAD INCIDENT and had to let two BAD employees go.

I thought all his pals were supposed to be in the oil business--you know, all those greedy people who are screwing and manipulating energy prices, and creating this entire energy mess for Californians, to get back at them for Dubya losing California in the last election.
