Although, who knows, maybe someone wants to discuss back pain.

When I hurt my neck a few years ago in a car wreck, sitting in front of the computer was torture. While I was doing all the doctor stuff to get well, I seemed to keep moving backward after I spent time at the desk. I didn't want a laptop -- I love my big screen and frankly couldn't afford to buy a better laptop at that time, so we dragged my easy chair into the office, got extensions for the keyboard and mouse and rigged up a comfortable way for me to see the monitor (again, using cable extensions). I looked like I had set up a nest or something, but it was great. The chair + a pillow were perfect support, I could recline while working and was damned comfortable. Helped a lot. Now, there are cordless keyboards and mice (I use a cordless Logitech mouse and love it). I know this doesn't address the back problems Beth mentioned and this may not be of help there, but thought I'd mention it in case anyone checking out this thread might benefit.
