Two days this week, my rhode island red hen laid a tiny egg that was nearly round and looked just about like a brown ping pong ball. Any theories as to why this might have occurred?

It seems in my chickens they will lay thoses type eggs either when they just are starting to lay or when they are about to stop. Sometimes they will lay thoses small eggs when they are about to molt.

I haven't gotten those with my RIR's or Dom's, but my Seabrights will lay one of those every so often.
