My flatmate & myself living togather for about 18 years with joint mortgage with Bank of Ireland,now I want to sell & move in with my girlfriend but my flatmate doesnt to sell.

I pay the mortgage although he initially put the deposit down.

How do I get him change his mind bearing in mind he is 65 years of age c

With difficulty. You need to go see a solicitor - especially if you are in the south - because the law is distinctly different there.

You need to take along details of any arrangements you entered into, plus proof of your and his contributions.

If he won't sell, would he consider buying you out? You could threaten to stop paying the mortgage - but I wouldn't recommend carrying out this threat - everybody loses out this way.
