1-HOUR NOTIFICATION OF PROBABLE LOAD INTERRUPTIONS [200101273]

The CAISO anticipates the need to interrupt firm load for the period 07/03/2001 15:04 through 07/03/2001 16:04 in the amount of 500 MW for each respective hour for the period on a State-wide basis based on system conditions as of 07/03/2001 13:36.

Maximum conservation efforts are encouraged for the time period specified in this notice.

Utility Distribution Companies are to await further orders from the CAISO.

A 'Stage 3 Emergency Notice' and 'Notice of Load Interruptions' will be issued by the CAISO when the load interruptions have actually begun or are imminent.

Running solely off solar power, from Southern CA:

Why wasn't there any 24 hour or 48 hour forecasts issued? This was clearly foreseeable by yesterday at the latest. Does it have anything to do with FERC's formula for setting price caps, this under- prediction and under-stating the seriousness of California's grid conditions?

Don't know what happened to 1.5% trigger.
