Interesting, how life goes on.......greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread |
Interesting how life goes on, isn't it. I thought I'd have a whole lot less forum time(actually only a very small fraction of the time I used to have). I thought this was the year that the garden would look great, well it started out really nice, especially since we're doing it different cause of moving, Well the weather certainly has had it's say; and grandchildren visiting took it's toll, and spending wonderful time with my mentally challened daughter that I haven't seen in years, took time but was also timed shared in the garden and picking blueberries. So the garden is very weedy, but it's growing. The garlic didn't do as well this year, but I won't have to buy all of it from the grocery.
I just knew I could keep the house in better order, even with packing. I do have a path. Boxes are getting pack, oh yeah, the landlord is having this house sided, now we have to move those boxes and the piano away from the windows, so the windows can be replaced. I think I'll clean the bathroom.
We were going to raise more meat birds this summer, but they can't be delivered til we move, I think butchering in Dec will be fun, more pironeerish. We'll go ahead and get baby layers this fall, since a fox has been getting ours. We moved Scoob over by the chicken house, the grass is getting ruined but our chickens are safe.
The big plans for our new-rebuilt place are still there, just a couple months behind, things like surveyors not writing down appointments... Most of the windows are in and some walls. We've had a couple differences of opinions on sinks, rooms, whatever, and how nice that we found somehting better that we agree on.
Not blackberry picking at the farm, too much driving and weeds, but next year, I'll be able to spend lots of time picking cause I'll be living there.
But life goes on and often better things happen than what we plan. "'tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, Just to take Him at His word..."

Cindy -I love your attitude! So what if there's a path in the house and the garden doesn't produce 150% of your needs?? You seem to have had the blessings of love and happpiness, and aren't they, after all, the more important?! Thanks - your attitude toward these things is a real blessing to ME!!
