There are certain protocols in which one can follow to fire the shutter of the 6x7 with the back open. Mine has done something quite different in which I can fire the shutter with the back open. At the end of the roll(220), if I wind the lever way past where the film releases the spool, the shutter will cock and I can open the back and fire like this. Anyone else had this happen?

I'm venturing a guess, but typically this is done by holding down the multiple exposure button and cocking the shutter. This allows you to fire with the back open. Perhaps the lack of tension on the winder, combined with the full takeup spool from a spent 220 roll is causing the crank to slip just enough allow it to be fired.

Just a thought, and probably way off, but I thought I would offer my theory.
