I have a GA-5AX motherboard and attempted to install the updated Ali IDE drivers. Something went wrong and my device manager now shows SCSI controller and the Ali PCI Bus Master IDE controller...not the dual ide controller. Neither my CD-ROM or CD-RW drives are now recognized. When I attempt to remove the Ali controller, it goes into a lockup..hourglass displayed but nothing happening and the only thing to do is power down and reboot. Any suggestions on how to eradicate this device and start over...thanks in advance.

I'm going to need a little more info here, were the updated IDE drivers part of a BIOS update? or just a software patch for Windows? If it is a software patch you might have to get in touch with Gigabyte technical support for specific instructions on how to remove it.
