722's restoration progressgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread |
I was just wondering if there was any website or publication that would have or cover the 722 restoration? Is the Locomotive and Railway Presvation Mag. still in print? Prehaps a website with recent photos of the restoration, or just knowing that they plan to complete this part of the rebuild by this date. Thanks in advance. -Evan

Evan,I can't help out with information about 722 directly, but you might want to post a question at Railway Preservation News (www.rypn.org) on their "Interchange". If I remember right, Locomotive and Railway Preservation Magazine is no more, and this web site is trying to carry on its work. A number of folks from TVRM as well as many other railway museums and other preservation places are regulars there. I just quickly browsed the board for postings during the last 8 weeks, and 722 was not mentioned. Don't let that deter you, you can change that.
Cheers, Jochen

I live 7 miles from where 722 is located right now. She is torn down and undergoing restoration it looked like last time i saw her.

According to my info, the 722's restoration completion date is expected to be this year. Otherwise the date is still tentative. There is no operating schedule yet for it.
