your scapes have atmosphere, really have it, I like the pertrait of the close up to someone´s glasses, others like the working women and the man behind a leaf, don´t find very atractive; your portraits are better when up front or close up as the lady with glasses, whit scenics you´re so open but I find that at photographing people you hide, you may ask your self why, if you think that makes scence, thanks for sharing,

I must be slipping. This is the third time in a week that I have looked over pictures from posters of this forum, and have liked them! These from Chili remind me of stills from one of my favorite movies: "Berlin, Diary of a City (1922)." They are remarkable. Keep shooting, please. Bill.

Great shots, Ivan!

Did you use a meter or estimate?

Work Day is brilliant, so-so the rest. Good question, did you use a meter on Work Day? thanks for having the guts to share your love with us. PN

Thanks you all, gentlemen. These pictures were made (or taken . . .?) with the help of a little V-meter bought from Stephen some time ago, on XP2 (400 ASA), printed in a 1-hour photo store in 6x9 cm format and then scanned with a table top scanner using Microsoft Photo Editor. Other than the autobalance thing in this software no other digital touch up was performed, nor cropping, nor nothing. Work Day was made the same way. I don't usually adjust the camera directly as per the meter except on overcast days but try to do my own interpretation of the Zone System. Work Day was exposed for the highlight, of course. However, according to the meter, f16 and 1/1000s were still to high an exposure but I had no option so that I tried my best at keeping the lens pointed to the lady you can see walking away so as to cover the most I could of the light coming directly into the lens. To some extent it did work, I think. I expect to learn more about using software so as to make the images on the screen look more alike to what they are on paper: though the cheap procesing they look far better (referring to the tonal range only, of course. The rest of the shortcomings are my own). Thanks again. I'll try to upload some more photos in the near future for you to comment and show that my Leicas do work though limited to (by ?) my personal capabilities. And, YES. It takes guts . . . Regards

Expose for the shadow, process for the highlight. Print for the shadow, adjust contrast for the highlight.

Thanks, Eric. I have read about that wise advise before but I don't really make my own dark room work. However I constantly dream of doing it some day. I mean if I don't get caught by the digital way before I start the traditional way . . . Still to be decided. In the mean time I have no spare time to devote to neither way, so that I'll continue shooting only. Thanks again, Eric. Best regards
