The writing has been on the wall for some time and the only thing really solidly holding back the UN from taking complete control of the entire planet is us little Revolutionary Warrior's offspring. The difference between a slave and a freeman is the right to keep and bear arms. I am quite opposed to slavery.

calm down you crazy right wingers - you need to think for two seconds. If teeth were a sign of intelligence, your lack of intelligence is amazing. I own guns, I support gun control. Yeah, kinda crazy, I know. I am against street thugs or law abiding citizens using ak-47's to kill deer or anything else for that matter. Kill the Hitler quotes on gun control and the Bill Clinton "limit democracy" quote.

Rub two atoms of intelligence together and then ponder this: "Do you really think that the United States of America will allow a governing body to limit our ownership of firearms. While you are using your brain, think about this: Do you think the American government and it's people will aloow foreign troops to run roughshod through our streets?

A RESOUNDING H E L L - N O should be firing off in your little brain

I am tired of this discussion - If you want to tumble with an intelligent gun owner, not just a "yes- man" You let me know.

Okay, Bill. What exactly historically supports more liberty, more safety and less crime in gun control? What is the difference between a citizen and a subject?

If you are for gun control and the law abiding citizens all turn in their Ak's, Ar's, Mini 14's, SKS's, et al, what is stopping the criminals? Reference Austrailia and it's violent crime rate increase.

Why do foreign troops train with our soldiers? Especially in operations taking over US airports without telling the people in the area about it? And the citizens didn't shoot. Well trained couch potatoes.

The general mentality of America is not too far from going, "Gee, guns are evil, it's okay to ban them." Check out Oprah. Also, if you would, note that it was a UN document in the article. How do you feel about the "We the Peoples" document? What happened to the American soldier who refused the UN adornments? When did the countries of the world lose their sovereignty?

Slings at intelligence and dental work don't exactly give the impression of a vastly superior intellect at work. I wait with bated breath....I'll even have mint while I wait....for the discussion to start.

Does anyone really beleive that an AK-47 is a hunting rifle? Does anyone really beleive that one cant defend themself from violent crime with a ruger 10-22, or a pump shotgun and therefore needs an Uzi? And does anyone really beleive that the U.N. is our biggest secuirity threat? The U.N. is a diplomatic organization as much as anything. Nobody is trying to control anyone else. I own a few guns, but with that in mind I realize why you dont need an assault weapon to hunt, protect yourself, etc.

Of Course an AK-47 isn't a hunting rifle! It is how ever insurance that the next time a dictator comes knocking on your door, you won't have a number tattooed on your body and a trip on the little train to the gas chambers.

What was Hitler's first action? To make Germany's streets "safe" by gun control. Boy, were those streets ever safe!!!(heavy Sarcasm Implied)

The AK-47 is the preferred tool for thinning elk herds in many parts of our great nation. Don't knock it until you try it.

Just because a firearm doesn't have a fancy walnut stock and the metal doesn't have a fancy blued finish and it once or still is used as a military weapon doesn't mean it can't be used for competitive shooting, hunting or self defense needs. What AK-47s, AK-74s, SKSes, AR-15/M-16s, FN-FALs, CETMEs, HK G3s, UZIs, M-1 Garands, M-14/M1As, M- 1 Carbines and many other military or civilian versions of military firearms have in common is that they are generally very reliable and use cartridges that are also used in traditional bolt action hunting rifles. The AK-47 and SKS uses a 7.62x39mm round that is also used in a CZ 527 bolt action hunting rifle. The AR-15/M-16 uses a 5.56x45mm NATO round that is known to civilians as the .223 Remington round, which is also used in bolt actions and semi-automatic hunting rifles. The FN-FAL, L1A1, CETME, HK G3s, and M-14/M1A rifles use the 7.62x51mm NATO round also known as the civilian .308 Winchester which is used in many hunting rifles. M-1 Garands us the .30-06 Springfield cartridge that is a very popular hunting round. The Uzi uses a 9mm or .45 ACP round that can be used for short distance hunting. The m-1 Carbine uses a short .30 caliber round that is good for varminting and short range deer hunting.

In all cases, the above mentioned rifles, before the ban, may have had bayonet mounts, pistol grips, and high capacity magazines. They could be used to defend family and homestead as well as be used to help defend our country. If the magazines were bigger than what hunting regulations allowed, you just used a smaller capacity one to be legal.

Don't judge a firearm because of its asthetics. That would be like me saying that just because someone has a certain color of skin that they are a criminal or evil. I don't believe in gun control of any form because it discriminates against the law abiding while it does nothing to stop crime. Gun control also violates our God given, constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms.

Where I live in Missouri we love firearms and hunting. However, we are getting more and more transplants from other places and they often have an unnatural aversion to firearms. They also think that those of us who have lived here all of our lives are dumb hillbillies. The result is that we make it clear that they are more than welcome to go back to where they came from.

As for what I use to hunt with, I use what is legal under the regulations set forth by the Missouri Department of Conservation. I don't descriminate against a firearm just because it can be used to wage war against an enemy. That is the whole reason we have the Second Amendment. It is to delineate that we are the militia which is responsible for keeping the country safe from tyranny from outside and inside the country and that our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

If you don't like my view, that is your right. But don't you dare tell me that my choice in firearms is wrong and that they should be banned. If you think that my firearm is evil and ugly, I could say the same thing about your house, car or choice in clothing. Your tastes may be different, but I don't go around banning your tastes in things. We may not agree in our tastes, but I don't tell you that you can't have them.

all of you idiots that think the UN isn't a threat to our freedom just give it a few more years then come back here after you see (if you can see ) just how far its gone with our loosing our our rights as a free people and then make a post here .Have you really ever studied anything about the UN ? Do you really think that disarmament is just nukes ? You need to read the UN Manifesto . Be all you can be .... read ! "Your dispatch is received, and if genuine, which its extraordinary character leads me to doubt, I have to say in reply, that I regard the levy of troops made by the administration for the purpose of subjugating the states of the South, as a violation of the Constitution, and as a gross usurpation of power. I can be no party to this wicked violation of the laws of the country and to this war upon the liberties of a free people. You can get no troops from North Carolina." - Gov. John W Ellis, to Abraham Lincoln, April 1861
