4x5 Polaroid film with an actual 4x5 imagegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Large format photography : One Thread |
I asked this question before and some responded that the typ 559 would create an image that was 4x5 in. However at the polaroid site the "more info" link states that the image size is 3 1/2 x 4 5/8. I'm confused. I would to experiment with pol. image transfersbut would like an image larger than 3 1/2 x 4 5/8.Any info would be greatly appreciated!

That is the image size on all 4x5 polaroid material. the other approximately 1/4 inch on the sides is the border area. and Actually i believe you are asking about Type 59 film as I have never heard of Type 559.If you would liketo do Polaroid Transfers larger than 4x5 there is of course the 8x10 format.

Regular 45 film exposure area is 3 3/4 in x 4 5/8, your not going to get a full 4x5 exposue area except maybe with pinhole photography.Pat

Type 559 is a pack film and is smaller than the Type 59. There is no Polaroid film that is close to (except the type 59) the acual size of 4x5. 1/4" loss is what you will get all around.
