Computer question...greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread |
Please be kind, I am very computer illiterate. So this may be a dumb question, but here goes: I've made an index of all the articles in all my magazines(by hand) that I thought I might want to look up someday, I've already used it . Now I've gone through and written down the names, pages, etc. of all the recipes, a lot of recipes. Is there something on the computer or some software I can buy so that I can have all the different recipe categories and cross reference them without having to re-type all the information each time. For example: chocolate birthday cake, after I type it in under cake, I'd like to have it under birthday and chocolate. Is there anyway to do that with just the click of a button?

what you need is a simple database software. I've even seen shareware softwares that were designed for recipe organization. I'll look around a little and report back.

Here are two sites I found by using MSN search. Go to advanced search features and select Bollean search. type in the search criteria: "software AND recipe"http://www.recipe-box.com/
http://www.mealmaster.com/
Both sites want to sell you a $30 software to manage your recipes on the computer. One has a free demo download.
