My frame counter on my M6 is 5 exposures out.(second time) How do I fix it? I have taken yhe take- up spool out but went no further.

You will have to remove the top plate which requires special tools. I would send it out for a CLA as you mention that it also needs its rangefinder calibrated.

What would the serial number be for your M6. I believe Erwin Puts once mentioned in an article something about this being a plastic counter fault in certain production runs of the M6, which interestingly has never been mentioned since, I am not sure why.
