One of my sold kids won Reserve Champ at 4H

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Our county fair (which has recently become the state fair) had their 4H goat show today. I felt great when one of my sold kids came in second place. The judge said she would have probably been first if she had been older since he thinks she will fill out well. And this wasn't the best out of the five does I had. Not bad for a first kidding, huh?

Congratulations, Dee! I didn't read the title carefully, so at first I thought one of your CHILDREN had won something for 4-H! LOL! I take it a "sold kid" means one that you'd already sold? In that case, I bet there is some 4-H CHILD who feels pretty great now too!

LOL:):) Dee, its funny how some folks will get this weird expression on their face when goat folks gather and start talking kids, udders, teats, semen, etc. Really turns some heads.

Guess I a lucky one , got goats after breeding dogs for years .If you want funny looks do a breeding at a truck stop ! Didn't think anything but a woman would make truckers turn there head .

It is hilarious Bernice! I know when someone ( a townie friend or one of my husbands colleagues from work in the city)) asks me questions about farming stuff and I start prattling about various topics that involve some explicit stuff and I notice the look on their face I stop my lesson and say kindly "Was that just a little too much information for you, dear?" ROFL Guess I am just not cut out for cocktail party small talk!
