I am trying to identify my house style, built in 1950 or so. The house plans were called "Florida house" I believe. It originally had a flat roof (a peaked roof was added later). The plans called for a small hexagonal or round window next to the front door but it was deleted when built. The original windows were large metal casement corner windows. There are inset 4" wide grooved decorative "lines" in the stucco exterior going from the front door to the windows. The house is cinder block. There are stucco lips under each window. This house is in NJ. It's very small, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room. (One room in house plans was removed when built.) Thanks.

I might be wrong, but I think it would be considered a "salt box" style home. These were small simple homes pitched at the returning G.I. market after World War II. It was during the baby boom and new families were everywhere. There hadn't been much new home construction in about fifteen years because of the Great Depression and then the war. These homes popped up all over the United States meeting a huge demand for new homes.
