Film Speed Dial

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

When adjusting my M6TTL film speed dial, the arrow "click" will fall onto the first hash mark on either side of 100, 200, 400 etc film speeds. Do I set the arrow for these speeds between the click or does the dial need adjustment? Many thanks.

i'm not sure but one way to check precisely how your unit is reading the film iso is by hooking up the leica sf-20 flash unit. when you press the shutter halfway, the flash unit will show on it's digital display what iso the camera is set to.

Spin the dial all the way to left, and see if it falls before or after the ISO number - you'll then know which side of the hash mark to use.

Jack's method is the way I'd do it...if the camera was out of warranty. In warranty, it would be in Leica's lap post-haste.
