Does anyone get this magazine? I've been getting it for years and just got the new issue today........Organic Style !!! OG has changed !!! It is supposed to be new and better. I don't think so. Full of glitzy ads for perfume and clothes. I don't want this.......I want to see peoples compost bins, learn how to make bug juice and read what Mike McGraths been up too...... Any other OG readers out there? How do you feel about this?

Karen, I think that Organic Style is a new magazine coming out to compete with Simple Living and other magazines of that type. I don't think that it is replacing Organic Gardening ... at least I hope not... I really enjoyed Mike's editorials when he was the editor...he sure made the magazine "interesting" didn't he!!

Karen, you aren't alone in disliking the new "organic style". Go down about 25 posts and read!

I used to take OG; cancelled after Mike was booted out...Countryside was sort of a replacement for me; discovered it soon after that.

If you go down to yesterdays items you will find an article on the same topic. That should help answer the questions.

I have been reading OG since it was Organic Gardening and Farming. I cancelled my subscription today! Yes too full of glitz and advertising.Yesterday, I recieved a copy of the new Organic Style. Through it right into the garbage.
OG used to be such a fine and informative mag. just like Prevention. Both have gone right down the tubes. I know things change but I think they went off the deep end and will lose a lot of customers.
When I called early this morning to cancel (I had e-mailed them in the past with no response), the message I received was this was a peak time and we cannot take your call at this time. I called at 7AM central time.
I finally got through to the number for Organic Style, was on hold for @ 15 min. but then finally talked to a person and cancelled and told her not to send me any more of their mag.
Sorry to see such a fine publication go to the dogs.

I subscribed to OG years and years ago, but when it became more about saving the Rain Forest and some strange article about witch-craft/talking to spirits in plants (or some darn thing) I had to wonder what it had to do with my vegetable garden and I stopped my subscription also.

I am the OP on this post. Thanks for all the replies. I did call and told them I did not want this new magazine and they put me back on with Organic Gardening. I think they have some nerve changing your subscription with out asking first !! I'm glad OG is still out there though. Countryside is still my all time favorite magazine. Have been getting it since 1979 and have every info packed issue.

I e-mailed yesterday and told them I did not like being switched without my knowledge or consent. I also told them I didn't see any difference between what they did and the telephone slamming scams. They e-mailed right back and said they'd be happy to switch me back to OG. All this just makes me wonder if they are trying to get rid of OG altogether. What do you think?

Dunno, Debra. I DID notice that the last issue of OG that I got was VERY skinny.
