Artemesia/Wormwood (used as garden repellant)

The herb Artemesia/Wormwood is supposed to be good for repelling "pests." Has anyone had any proven success with it repelling large "pests," like deer and groundhogs?

The stinkiest bar soap you can find is excellent at repelling deer, don't know about it repelling whistle pigs though! Irish Spring is good and smelly, but whatever really annoys your nose the most in the soap aisle will work the best. Tie the bars with some string and hang around your plants that need protected, use light weight dowel rods if need be to hang where you need them.

Wormwood is a nauxious (Sp) weed and once started very hard to kill.

Wormwood is a nauxious (Sp) weed and once started very hard to kill, most people don't want it.

Christina, I planted this several years ago for the same reason, and found that while it was very aromatic and may have detered some insects, it did nothing to keep away the deer. I have never had a groundhog problem. The plants do become very large and do spread by roots-- difficult to get rid of once they are established. I eventually pulled them all out.
