Yes, much new on Gene Logsdon! But its not on the old site and the new site isn't up yet - still trying to get the domain transferred from the previous host. I sure hope its up before my web radio interview on Sept. 11th. I started trying to get this thing moved in JULY, here it is nearly the end of August and its STILL NOT MOVED!!!! AAAAARGH!

The old site is

BlackBird Ridge Homepages You can also get to it by clicking on "Publisher" on the main Commons page, and then select "Gene Logsdon" from there via the links at the left The new site will be at http://www.blackbirdridge.com, when I FINALLY get the former hosting site to let go of it so I can get it up on the new host site. In the meantime, I'll post the HTML for current events direct to the forum. There's more, but I haven't gotten it all collated and updated yet.

Well, Sojo; I can't even begin to figure out where you got that idea. (Tongue firmly in cheek!!) Yah, for about thirty years now; from back when he used to write for OG all the time and from when I got my first book by him - Two Acre Eden. I don't have quite all of his books yet, either - I'm working on it. I need to go find that post where you put in the guy's name where you can order the books so Gene gets more of the $$$.

That article he's going to have in OG - do you know WHICH OG? Those bums switched me over to some slick rag called Organic Style. I'm still waiting to calm down before I call customer service. Have you seen a copy of this...this...this #^*$ - can I use words like that on this forum?! This is some new thing that they switched a bunch of subscribers over to without asking; but they say they will still have a mag called OG. So then I looked for the regular OG at the store but all they had was the July/Aug issue. I feel like I ought to make them send me a copy of the REAL OG for this month!

Okay, rant over!! I really appreciate the listing of speaking engagements - hope I can get to one sometime; still jealous of your trip to Ohio!

Polly, I got that "Organic Style" magazine this month too. The way I read the letter, I thought that I would be getting it in addition to OG, not in place of it. I'm going to have to look at things a little closer and probably make an irate call to customer service myself. I'm not at all interested in becoming an organic Martha Stewart. :)

Polly, the info you are looking for is in the thread titled "More Gene Logsdon Info" but I'll repeat part of it here.

He has an article slated for the Sept/Oct 2001 issue of Organic Gardening Magazine. He is writing an article for the April/May 2002 issue of Mother Earth News.

Several current titles are available from friends of his who buy them at wholesale, sell them at retail, and give Gene ALL the profits. Otherwise he only gets like a buck per book from the publisher. Their address is Andy Reinhart, 3624 T.R. 136, Bellefontaine, OH, 43311.

The books they have and prices (price includes tax, shipping, and handling) are:
Good Spirits $21
Wildlife in the Garden $13
You Can Go Home Again $20
The Contrary Farmer $14
The Contrary Farmer's Invitation to Gardening $14
Living At Nature's Pace $14

I am pretty sure they have the only available copies of "You Can Go Home Again" and "Living at Nature's Pace". Both books are excellent. OK, ALL his books are excellent.

You can also get "The Big Things in Life are the Little Things", a compendium of some of his articles for the Carey Progressor Times, from Slow Lane Publishers, 1198 E. Findlay St., PO Box 37, Carey, OH 43316 or phone them at (419) 396-7567. Talk to the same folks if you're interested in a subscription to the Carey Progressor Times, Gene is still writing that weekly column for them.
