Taters, peelin'm and lazy cooks. NO Preachin.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

Something I have been think'n about for quite a spell. I love taters but just hate peel'n'm. Takes time and patients--both of which I have very little of. The result of all that aggravation is a little dee-vice that will peel tater for the lazy cook. What appears to be an inexpensive little dude--it's design is fairly simple but the results should be real promise'n.

Was just a wonderin if I'm way off base or would the average country cook/homesteader be interested in something like this? If so what price range would folks be willin to pay for one. Made from plastic or metal. Plastic for the cheepie and metal for the more expensive unit. Both would be built idential other than the material.

Cleanup would be easy by hand or in the dishwasher. Comments--good or bad please. old hoot, the lazy cook. Matt.24:44

Patients? Not really. I'm real good at typos --it should be PATIENCE! Hope that's all the typos in it but I sure wouldn't bet my "tater peeler" on it.

Hoot you have hit upon my sore spot in the kitchen. I enjoy making bread by hand, homemade noodles, homemade butter and cheese but I hate peeling stuff....which doesn't make much sense since the other stuff takes longer. I even (gasp) will buy frozen french fries when they are on sale to get out of peelin taters. I'd probably pay up to $20 but then again I'm a tightwad :o). If it were really really impressive and fast I might pay a smidge more. Let me know if you perfect that little doodad.....I wanna be one of your testers(and first customer).
