Where can I buy Goat's Milk (Near Martinsville, IN)greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
My name is Yvette. I am visiting my parents here in Indiana for a few weeks. My 1-year-old is allergic to cow's milk, but does extremely well on goat's milk. We own milk goats at home so I brought as much as I could from Georgia with me. Is there anybody in this vicinity that could supply me with goat's milk for about 2 weeks for my baby? I am staying in Martinsville, Indiana. I would appreciate prompt answers if possible. I only have two days left before our supply runs out. Thank you all so very much for any assistance that I may receive. God Bless you all!

Yvette, Health food stores sell it and some supermarkets carry it also. You can usually find it in the same section as the evaporated and condensed milks. Sincerely, Ernest

You may want to post this on the cs forum also .I would pasturize it to be safe .A 1year old could become sick very easily if someone didn't take the precautions you do at home .

The larger grocery stores carry fresh goat's milk right next to the regular milk, and all Super Wal-marts carry it too, in the dairy case.

whatever you do, don't buy the canned goat milk, Mycelburg (sp). It tasted bad. Although we make our bread and butter off their company, Jackson Mitchell, their milk doesn't taste very good, plus we store it in our tank for 4 days before its picked up, then its about 8 days old by the time its shipped after processing to their plant in TN.

There is a health food store on the west side of Indianapolis called Georgetown Market, their phone number is 317-293-9525. They are at the corner of Lafayette Rd and Georgetown Rd, just north of Lafayette Square Mall. I think that they have goats milk, but you may want to give them a call first to be sure.

There is a guy that lives in Whiteland area that raises goats. He would most likely know. Email me about him if you need more info. I live in Franklin by the way. The health food store here might carry it.
