Looking for Junkit for cheese makinggreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I've searched high & low in our area for Junkit (Junket) brand rennet to make some cottage cheese. I realize that I could get similar products through the cheese supply catalogs, but I have a Junkit recipe that worked well for cottage cheese and it was easy to make. Anyone have any suggestions of where to look? Thanks

I have seen it at the super Wal-Mart in town. They have it down the aisle next to the pudding and tapioca along with unflavored Jell-o. If you can't find it where you live, email me, and I will mail some to you.

Thanks Lacey, I'll see if I can get to Walmart this weekend. If I can't find it, I might take you up on your offer.

Try this web site...Hometownfavorites.com. They have many foods that were popular in the '50's and '60's. They might have Junket!

Hoegger's carries it, I think even Lehman's might have it. You could check their website and see.

I just remembered my parents bought some junket last week from Winn Dixie grocery to make ice cream. They said the boxes were dusty and obviously around awhile. Maybe a health food store would carry it too. I got to thinking about Hoegger's I think they might sell something that isn't junket, but works the same.

Hi, My super WalMart has it in the spice isle rather than with the puddings and stuff. Tana

I found it at Vons next to the pudding and gelatins.
