I live in Washington DC, and one official Leica dealer (prophoto) apparently repairs any camera and provides LCA service? Have you had any experience with Prophoto? Thanks

Not since 1985 when I moved, but they were the best in town for minor Leica repairs and cleaning.

I would recommend using Leica USA for a CLA of your M or R camera. They do an excellent job, and your Leica will be returned to you as new! They recently CLA'd my two Leica M3's. Now the M3s look and feel as good as my M6 TTL. I have also used Sherry Krauter of Golden Touch Camera Repair for CLA of my Leicaflex SL cameras. DAG in Wisconsin is also highly recommended by people on the LUG (Leica User Group). There are other Leica specialists I have used for repair work on Leica lenses and meters.
