Which 90mm fast lens is best?

I just finished some hi-tech testing on six lenses. Among them was a 90mm Rodenstock Grandigon-N....and the same make and model in 75mm focal length. I wouldn't have believed it until I saw the test negs under a binocular medical microscope. The two Rodenstocks are awesome and are both 4.5 lenses. So much sharpness and contrast it was 'spooky'!

Hi Allen

The same I say from my 2 Nikons ;-)),they are a bit contrastier, the Rodenstock maybe a tak sharper and Schneiders are also beautyfull performers. So take what ever you get for a good price. I did not see a differents on a 16x20 inch enlargment. Good luck.

It was a little bit late in the night my last posting so I correct it a little bit. I will say if you take one of the newest lenses of Nikon,Rodenstock, Schneider you will be happy with it. Can`t talk about Fuji because I don`t have and had one. Good light!

all modern 90 from major brand are suppose to be good, it's just a matter of specific sample, try before you buy !

The wight are in the brochures stadet as follows: Nikon f4.5 90mm 600g, Schneider f 5.6 90mm 665g Rodenstock f 4.5 90mm 700 g all with Copal. On thad issue Nikon is the winner!
