Was there ever an M6TTL Titanium? I don't think so, but my dealer tells me he has one he would like me to buy.

No, there was not. Only the non-TTL "Classic" model with a .72 finder.

Ask to see it, Ivor. If he has one, maybe he had it upgraded from a Classic (if that can be done).Otherwise, ask him if he wants to buy some beachfront property in Kansas.

Thanks for the confirmation Steve. I have now seen the camera and, yes, it is a "Classic" with .72 finder. It appears the salesman who left the message is not Leica literate so, Bob, perhaps I will let him off the property offering.Any ideas as to what the camera is worth? It comes with silver chrome 50mm Elmar f2.8 and camera and lens are mint. Dealer asking price is US$2000.

IvorOriginally (when it was first introduced), the M6 Titanium sold for $ 3295 New with USA Passport. Then price was reduced during the course of its tenure, but only to about $ 2500. This with no lens.
The $ 2000 is not too bad even without a lens. If the camera and lens are truly in complete working condition and excellent consmetic condition, the price sounds quite good. You just need to be sure the items are really as advertised.

Don Chatterton has a Titanium body for $1650 in mint condition. without a lense.

Ivor, why did your dealer tell you he has one he would like you to buy?
-- Michael Kastner (kastner@zedat.fu-berlin.de), October 31, 2001.
Michael, I guess he knows what an easy mark I am where Leicas are concerned. I once had a former dealer send me two 111G bodies, unasked, and ask me which one I would like to buy. He was sure I would buy one, and I did.Time has not only mellowed me but tightened my grip on my wallet. I didn't buy the Titanium M6.
